I. Social indicators
According to the data of Ministry of Health, the births per 1000 population was 6.1, mortality per 1000 population was 1.6 and natural increase per 1000 population was 4.5 in the 1st quarter of 2010.
As of the 1st quarter 2010, the number of births (live birth) reached 16875 and increased by 540 or 3.3 percent and the number of mothers delivered children was 16823 and it has an increase of 545 or 3.3 percent, compared with the same period of the previous year at the national level. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the number of infant mortality reached 383 and it increased by 48 infants or 14.3 percent and the number of under-five mortality was 101 and increased by 54, while the number of maternal deaths shows 8 and it decreased by 4.
As results of Labor Force Survey, the number of unemployed was 131.6 thousand, out of them the 51.8 thousand or 39.3 percent was women at the end of 2009. Unemployment rate reached 11.6 percent as of 2009...
The number of unemployed who had registered at Labour and Welfare Service Divisions in aimags and the capital city and were actively looking for job reached 37.1 thous at the end of March of 2010 and increased by 2355 persons or 6.8 percent, compared with the same period of the previous year. Such increase of registered unemployed was mainly due to increase of unemployed who had registered in some aimags, namely Tuv (445 persons), Khovd (448 persons), Uvs (465 persons), Bayankhongor (557 persons), Darkhan-uul (592 persons), Zavkhan (704 persons), respectively.
As of the 1st quarter 2010, the total number of insurers was 397.5 thous.persons, of which 59.1 percent or 234.9 thousand insurers from the establishments and 40.9 percent or 162.6 thousand insurers from government institutions. Through the social insurance fund, 83.4 bln.tug allocated for pension. 72.9 percent of total allocated pension was for elderly, 12.8 percent was pension for disabled persons, 7.5 percent was pension for persons who lost foster and 6.8 percent was pension for military.
The 173.0 thousands of people received pensions, benefits and assistances with the total amount of 11.2 bln.tug. The number of social welfare service recievers has been decreased by 1.1 mln. people or 86.1 percent, the total amount of the allocated fund by 22.7 bln.tug or 67.0 percent, compared with the same period of the previous year.
From the 1st quarter of 2010, the 70.0 thousands of togrog were started to allocate to every citizen and as the first round, the totally 78.8 bln.togrog were reached to 1.1 mln.people from the Human Development fund. As of the 1st quarter of 2010, the number of infectious diseases was 7.7 thous and showing a decrease of 1349 cases or 14.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of persons infected by varicella, viral hepatitis, syphilis, trichomoniasis, gonococcal infection and shigellosis declined by 489 persons or 68.7 percent, by 579 persons or 30.4 percent, by 244 persons or 20.7 percent, by 210 persons or 16.4 percent, by 169 persons 11.0 percent, and by 48 persons 10.3 percent, respectively. While, the number of persons by tuberculosis increased by 82 persons or 8.0 percent.
As of March of 2010, 1 person infected by pandemic (H1N1) recorded at the Ulaanbaatar city. As of 1st quarter of 2010, 4 persons infected by HIV/AIDS newly recorded and total 66 persons were recorded at the national level. The total number of crimes committed in the 1st quarter of 2010 was 4671, reflecting a decrease of 451 crimes or 8.8 percent compared with the same period of the previous year.
The decrease in the number of crimes recorded at the Police Office was mainly due to 25.1-43.5 percent decrease in crimes such as crime against the right ownership, crime against environmental protection rule, and crime against national safety.

II. Macro economical indicators
The national consumer price index in the March of 2010 increased by 2.0 percent, by 7.4 percent and by 8.5 percent compared with the previous month, the end of previous year and the same period of last year, respectively. Price of all groups except transport and education groups increased by 0.2-15.8 percent, which resulted in the 7.4 percent increase in the overall index compared to the end of previous year.
According to the report of the Bank of Mongolia, money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of March of 2010, expanded to 2974.5 bln.togrogs, which reflects an decrease of 7.4 bln.togrogs or 0.2 percent, over February of 2010 and an increase of 621.9 bln.togrogs, or 26.4 percent, compared to the same period of the last year.
At the end of March of 2010, currency issued in circulation reached 384.5 bln.togrogs demonstrating an increase of 32.1 bln.togrogs, or 9.1 percent compared to February of 2010, and of 46.2 bln.togrogs, or 13.7 percent compared to the same period of the last year.
Loans outstanding at the end of March of 2010, amounted to 2721.8 bln.togrogs, an increase of 6.0 bln.togrogs, or 0.2 percent over the February 2010, and of 50.0 bln.togrogs, or 1.9 percent, to the same period of the last year.
Meanwhile, principals in arrears increased by 2.1 bln.togrogs or 1.4 percent over the February of 2010 and by 17.2 bln.togrogs or 13.0 percent compared to the same period of the last year, by reaching 149.4 bln.togrogs at the end of March. The non-performing loans reached 416.5 bln.togrogs and decreased by 28.2 bln.togrogs or 6.3 percent over the February of 2010, and by 150.8 bln.togrogs or 1.6 times compared with same period of the last year. In the March of 2010, there were 22 trading days and 11.7 mln.shares valued at 3.6 bln.togrogs were traded.
The number of shares traded increased by 7.8 mln.stocks or 3.0 times than the February of 2010 and by 11.0 mln.stocks or 16.4 times compared to the same period of the previous year, respectively.
As of the 1st quarter of 2010, total revenue and grants of General Government budget amounted to 554.8 bln.togrogs and total expenditure and net lending was 664.0 bln.togrogs representing a deficit of 109.2 bln.togrogs in the General Government budget overall balance.
Current revenue of General Government amounted to 539.7 bln.togrogs and current expenditure reached 512.6 bln.togrogs. Thus, the budget current balance was in surplus of 27.1 bln.togrogs. Compared with the same period of the previous year, tax revenue increased by 203.1 bln.togrogs or 73.3 percent. This was mainly due to increases of 69.6 bln.togrogs or 13.5 times in price increase tax of some products, of 41.0 bln.togrogs or 68.6 percent in value added tax, and of 39.8 bln.togrogs or 97.9 percent in corporate income tax.
Compared with the same period of the previous year, non-tax revenue increased by 3.1 bln.togrogs or 5.6 percent, out of which revenues from budget entities went up by 13.2 bln.togrogs or 73.0 percent, and revenue from navigation by 4.5 bln.togrogs or 2.0 times, respectively.
Compared with the same period of the previous year, total expenditure and net lending of the General Government budget reached 664.0 bln.togrogs reflecting the increase of 223.2 bln.togrogs and 50.6 percent. This was mainly due to increase of 82.6 bln.togrogs or 46.1 percent in subsidies and transfers.
Spending of 41.4 bln.togrogs on capital expenditure as of the 1st quarter of 2010 was higher by 13.6 bln.togrogs or 49.2 percent over the same period of the previous year. Increase in capital expenditure was due to an increase of 17.1 bln.togrogs, or 72.5 percent in domestic investment of internal sources.
As of the 1st quarter of 2010, Mongolia traded with 103 countries from all over the world and total external trade turnover reached 1076.2 mln.US dollars, of which exports made up 499.0 mln.US dollars and import did 577.2 mln.US dollars. External trade balance in the 1st quarter of 2010, showed a deficit of 78.2 mln.US dollars and increased by 6.7 mln.US dollars or 9.3 percent, compared with the same period of the previous year.
Compared with the same period of the previous year, total external trade turnover increased by 360.0 mln.US dollars, or 50.3 percent, of which exports by 176.7 mln.US dollars, or 54.8 percent, imports by 183.3 mln.US dollars, or 46.6 percent respectively. Compared with the same period of the previous year, total export increased due to increase of 4.9 times in value of zinc concentrate; and of 3.0 times in value of iron ores; and of 1.9 times in value of fluor spare ores and concentrate, and of 5.0 times and 5.6 times in value of coal and crude petroleum oils, respectively.

III. Economics sector indicators
As of the 1st quarter of 2010, 2.7 mln female breeding stock have been gave a birth and it is equals to 14.5 percent of total livestock at the beginning of the year. Survival of young animals amounted 2130.8 thous.head and it is lower by 2702.1 thous.head or 2.3 times compared with the same period of previous year.
As of the 1st quarter of 2010, 6310.8 thous. adult animals have been lost it is equals to 14.3 percent of total livestock at the beginning of the year. Out of losses of adult animals, 3.8 thous. were the camels, 207.5 thous. were the horses, 347.3 thous. were the cows, 2501.5 thous. were the sheeps and 3250.7 thous. were the goats. Compared with the same period of previous year, the number of losses of adult animals increased by 5.7 mln heads or 10.6 times more. Out of losses of adult animals, 51.5 percent were the goats.
As for the 1st quarter of 2010, the total industrial output reached 394.2 bln.togrogs demonstrating an increase of 13.4 percent or by 46.4 bln.togrogs (at 2005 constant prices), compared with the previous year. Theincrease in the industrial output was mainly due to an increase of main industrial products such as coal, crude oil, iron ore, molybdenum concentrate with 47 %, zincum concentrate, fluor spar concentrate, all types of meat, wheat flour, alcoholic beverage, wine, beer, soft drinks, cigarettes, cement, lime, copper 99%, metal foundries and steel casting etc.
Compared with the previous year, the output of divisions of mining of coal and lignite, extraction of peat increased by 63.6%, extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas by 3.3 times more and other mining and quarrying by 8.6% for the mining and quarrying sector. And the output of divisions of manufacture of food products and beverages increased by 59.7%, manufacture of tobacco products by 35.1%, manufacture of wearing apparel, dressing and dyeing of fur by 38.4%, manufacture of paper and paper products by 38.2% and publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media by 30.8% for the manufacturing sector than the same period of last year.
As of the 1st quarter of 2010, total 8.4bln.togrogs of construction and installation work were carried out. Of which, the 4.0 bln.togrogs or 47.7 percent of work were executed by domestic entities, and 4.4 bln.togrogs or 52.3 percent by foreign entities.
As of the 1st quarter of 2010, 5.0 mln.ton freight and 61.0 mln.passenger (duplicated) were carried by all types of transport. Compared with the same period of the previous year, carried freight rose by 696.1 thous.ton or 16.1 percent, and carried passengers by 12.7 mln.persons or 26.2 percent.
The growth in the volume of freight was due to an increase of 124.9 thous. ton or 10.4 percent and of 571.1 thous. ton or 18.3 percent, in freight carried by the auto and railway transport, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year. Compared to the same period of the previous year, passengers (duplicated) carried by auto transport increased by 12.6 mln.persons, by railway and air transport by 35.6 thous.persons and by 19.9 thous.persons, respectively.
Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology reveals that maximum precipitation was (20.9 mm) in Bulgan soum of Bayan-Ulgii aimag. Absolute high air temperature reached 21.1°C in Dalanzadgad soum of Umnugovi aimag, whereas absolute low air temperature was -46.0°C in Tsetsen-Uul soum of Zavkhan aimag. Highest cover of snow was 61 cm in Uench soum of Khovd aimag. Maximum wind speed reached 40 m/sec in Bugat soum of Govi-Altai aimag and in Bulgan soum of Umnugovi aimag in March, 2010.
Concentration of nitrogen dioxide exceeded from the maximum allowable concentration of air quality standard by 8 times around the 13th micro district, 5 times around the 1st micro district and the 32nd Toirog, respectively and 3 times around the Offitseruudiin ordon; sulphur dioxide exceeded by 24 times around the Khan-Uul district, 23 times around the Offitseruudiin ordon, 21 times around the 32nd Toirog, 20 times around the 13th micro district and 16 times around the 1st micro district; particulate matter less than ten micrograms exceeded by 29 times around the 1st micro district and 22 times around the 13th micro district in the Ulaanbaatar city in March, 2010.
National emergency and management agency reveals that there were 783 disasters in the 1st quarter of 2010. Damage of disasters amount was 192.0 bln.togrogs, 57 people died and 5.5 mln livestock had lost because of heavy snows.
By the types of disasters, there were 720 times object fires, 11 strong snow and sandstorms, 8 of earthquakes have registered.
